Robert W. “Bob” Butterbaugh, 76, Altus, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 at his home. Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Veterans Section of Altus City Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Robert W. Butterbaugh was born on April 26, 1936 to Albert and Betty May (Yarborough) Butterbaugh in Alexandria, Tennessee. After graduating high school, he received his Bachelors Degree in Administration from Cameron University. Bob served his country in the United States Air Force as a weatherman from 1953 to 1975, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Haines Animal Clinic for eleven years. He had a passion for animals, owning and operating the Pet – O – Rama Pet Store on Falcon Road for twenty years. He married Jackie E. Medlock on March 14, 1981 in Altus, Oklahoma. He loved and cherished his wife and affectionately called her “his princess.” Bob was a loving stepfather and was well known for his kindness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus for several years and enjoyed Sunday School and singing in the choir. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Butterbaugh. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, of the home; a daughter, Roberta Watson Enright; a son, James Grady Butterbaugh; three stepchildren, Debbie McAskill, Billy Medlock and George Medlock; thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
