Robert Wade “Bob” Morris, AKA “Beaching Bob,” 60, Altus, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at English Village Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Robert was born to Robert Harmon and Lois Kae (Aarup) Marquardt, Sr. in San Pedro Beach, CA on December 11, 1951. He was a handyman at hotels. Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He was a Vietnam veteran as a crew member on a UH-1H Helicopter Gunship from the 120th AHC Razorbacks. He was awarded the Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device. He was honorably discharged in 1971. He was shot down three times during the Vietnam conflict and survived. He loved driving and talking about his 1984 Corvette. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his longtime friends Lynda and John Karr.
