Roberta Belcher, 91, Altus, passed away, Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Jeremy Butler officiating. Burial will take place 1:00 PM, Friday, June 14,2013 at the Rose Hill Cemetery, north of Wapanucka, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Roberta was born on April 18, 1922 to Wesley Monroe and Callie (Staggs) Ford in Manila, Arkansas. She attended Blackwater schools in Manila, which is in Mississippi County. Roberta and Samuel Allen Belcher were united in marriage on June 10, 1941 at Las Vegas, Nevada. To this marriage three children were born. Roberta was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and share with others. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel, who preceded her in death in 1982, a daughter, Glenda Williams, two sisters, Lillie Thornton and Jewell Walls, six brothers, William, Joe, John, Marvin, Ben and Fred Ford, one granddaughter, Melvina Duke, one grandson, Jonathan Duke, and one son-in-law, Bert Duke. Roberta is survived by two daughters, Sammie Butler and husband, Terry, of Altus, OK and Peggy Duke of Ardmore, OK; one sister, Josie Baugas of Osceola, AR; four grandchildren, Kenneth Duke of St. Joe, TX, JoAnn Duke of Ardmore, OK, Laura Chelf of Southlake, TX, and Jeremy Butler of Altus, OK; and six great-grandchildren.
