Rodney Dale Watson, 59, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, lifelong attorney from Norman, Oklahoma, died at his home on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Primrose Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma. Cremation services are provided by Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus, Oklahoma. Rodney D. Watson was born August 20, 1953 in Altus, Oklahoma to Coy Udell and Geraldine (Kincannon) Watson. The Watson’s and the Kincannon’s are from the Olustee, Oklahoma area, Southwest of Altus, Oklahoma. The Watson family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma when Rodney and his older brother, Terry, were young children. Rodney attended Lawton public schools and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971, where he served as the student body president and was awarded many top achievements. He attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1971 to 1973, when he transferred to the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, Political Science, in 1975. Rodney later attended and graduated from the Oklahoma School of Law in Norman, Oklahoma. He practiced Law in Norman most of his adult life as ‘Rodney D. Watson and Associates.’ Rodney married Rhonda Walker July 25, 1998 in Norman, Oklahoma. Together, Rod and Rhonda made a great team. Their passion for traveling, films, music, cooking, biking and spending time with their family and friends were their most precious times together. They adored each other’s company. He enjoyed his association with the Cleveland County Bar Association. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed distance running; dove, quail and pheasant hunting; tube fishing in Oklahoma ponds and especially fly fishing in Colorado with his brother and his father. Rodney was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Watson, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Beverly Walker. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of Oklahoma City, OK; a son, Ross Watson, of Norman, OK; a brother, Terry Watson, of Denver, CO; a sister, Renate McBain, and husband, Marcus, of Houston, TX; a niece, Courtney Bausch, of Denver, CO; a nephew, Ryan Watson, of Denver, CO; two stepsons, Sean Alexander and wife, Ilaria, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Zane Alexander and wife, Hannah, of Shawnee, OK; his father, Coy Udell Watson of Lawton, OK; three grandchildren Eva, Luca and Layla Alexander, his aunt and uncle, Ted and Marie Kincannon, of Altus, OK; cousins, Gary Kincannon and wife, Tracy, of Altus, OK, Beverly Leonard and husband, Terrell, of Clinton, OK, and Phyllis Noble of Santa Barbara, California; and many many friends and associates.
