Rosalinda Plata Mendoza, 72, Altus, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Jackson County Hospital.
Rosalinda was born on June 26, 1950 in Menard, Texas to Alfredo Plata and Carolina (Rosas) Bara. She graduated high school in El Paso, TX and attended college there. On August 6, 1988, she married the love of her life, Pablo Salomon, in Altus. Rosalinda worked at the Cotton Compress in Altus for many years and owned and operated Plata’s Mexican Restaurant. Rosalinda went on to work as a press operator at SKF, formerly CR, for many years before retiring in 2010 as a Quality Assurance Inspector. She was a member of Grace New Life Fellowship in Altus. Rosalinda loved her family dearly and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and dancing with them. She spent her free time with her family going to the casino and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners softball and football.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alfredo “Freddy” Plata and Raymond Bara; and a sister, Carolina Bara.
Rosalinda is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Pablo Salomon; four daughters, Veronica Ybarra and husband, Robby, Yvette Mendoza and husband, Carlos Cruz, Rosanna Mendoza, and Diane S. Garcia and husband, Ramon; two sons, Paul Salomon, Jr. and John Paul Salomon; grandchildren, Brandon Ybarra and wife, Kelsey, Jerzey Ybarra, Mario Cruz, Ayranna Cruz, Demetrius Cruz, Giovanne Garcia, Blaise Salomon, and Ryleigh Rose Mendoza; siblings, Roy Plata and wife, Lupe, Elsa Garcia and husband, Perfecto, Sr., Eva Reyes, Erma Fortenberry and husband, Timothy, Alma Briscoe and husband, Timmie, and David Bara and wife, Mary Lou; and many other nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
