Roy W. Garrison, 73, longtime Altus resident and local business man, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Bailey officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Roy William Garrison was born December 2, 1939 South of Altus, Oklahoma on the family farm. He attended school in Friendship and Altus, graduating from Altus High School in 1957. He married Lynda Smith November 17, 1957 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Roy worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 40 years. He served as the Altus Postmaster for 17 years, retiring from the postal service in 2000. He was also involved in the real estate business and owned several property rentals. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus, where he also served as Deacon; the Altus Masonic Lodge #62; the Altus Lions Club and the American Realtors Association. He enjoyed horses, cattle and wheat farming. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lynn Garrison. He is survived by three sons, Bret Garrison and wife Yvonne of Lubbock, TX; Jeff Garrison and wife Misty of Altus, OK; Sean Garrison and wife Nathalie of Altus, OK; a daughter, Monica Babb and husband Ivan of Altus, OK; a sister, Pat Crawford and husband Bill of Duke,OK; fourteen grandchildren, Stan Garrison and wife Kristy of Amarillo, TX; Travis Garrison and wife Dani of Lubbock,TX; Justin Garrison and wife Brianna of Houston, TX; Brittany Garrison of Tulsa, OK; Ashton Morales and husband Anthony of Austin, TX; Jesse Luke Garrison of Altus, OK; Tessa Garrison, Altus, OK; Lexie Garrison, Altus, OK; Kelsey Adkins of Houston, TX; Kaden Hans of Blair, OK; Alex Garrison, Willem Garrison, Drake Babb and Abigayle Babb, all of Altus, OK; 10 great grandchildren; The Garrison Family will greet friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
