Ruth Benitez

Ruth Benitez, 65, Altus, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Kincannon's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Richard Reyes officiating with burial to follow services at the Olustee Cemetery. A Rosary will be held 6 p.m. Friday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ruth was born September 7, 1954 in Plymouth, Indiana to Frank and Paula (Alaniz) Lopez. When Ruth was a small child her family moved to New Mexico and later moved to Olustee. She attended schools in New Mexico and Olustee before marrying Luis Benitez on October 19, 1973 in Vernon, Texas. Ruth was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, yard work, dancing, playing piano, fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Mesa; and her brother, Seth Lopez.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Luis Benitez; two daughters, Juliet Hill and husband, Shawn; Jodie Monique Cervantez and husband, Jose; one son, Luis Benitez, Jr; nine grandchildren, Star Gloria, Caley Benitez, Brooke Hill, Luis Gloria, Chloe Hill, Taylor and Amaris Cervantez, Emily Benitez and Seth Cervantez; her father and stepmother, Frank and Sandra Lopez; five sisters, Mary Ann Reyes; Esther Hernandez and husband, James; Naomi Garcia and husband, Rudy; Lydia Reynolds and husband, Carmon; Debbie Nunez and husband, Frank; and many other family members and friends.
