Ruth Esther Bennett

Ruth Esther Bennett, 70, of Eldorado, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Eldorado Church of Christ with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Ruth O’Bannon was born June 2, 1941 in Valiant, Oklahoma to Willie K. and Opal E. (Hughes) O’Bannon. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1959. She married Thomas D. Bennett on June 11, 1961 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed painting and gardening. She was a long time member of the Eldorado Church of Christ, published the church bulletin for over 30 years and was involved in mission work. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Deborah Adams and husband Tim of Eldorado, OK; Lori Collvins and husband Joe of Eldorado, OK; seven grandchildren, Sharon Adams and Jennifer Adams, both of Weatherford, OK; Timothy Adams of Eldorado, OK; Jamie Collvins of Broken Bow, OK; Dusti Ellison and husband Josh of Blair, Ok; Katherine Ballard of Altus, OK; and Cheyenne Collvins of Eldorado, OK; ten great grandchildren and one on the way (Katherine’s); one brother, William O’Bannon and wife Patty of Eldorado, OK; one sister, Mary Stidham and husband Paul of Quanah, Texas and many friends.
