Ruth Mae Stern

Ruth Mae Stern, 74, Altus, passed away at her home Monday, May 20, 2013. Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bishop Charlene Walker and Minister Bonita Massenburg officiating. Burial will follow services in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Ruth Mae Crain was born July 31, 1938 to Cossie and Mattie (Cooper) Crain in Red River County, Texas. Ruth and L.C. Stern were united in marriage on June 29, 1982 in San Bernardino, California. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Altus. Ruth loved traveling, fishing, cooking, shopping and most of all visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed her role as homemaker and caregiver. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Larry Walton, and two sisters, Wilma Crain and Francis Crain. She is lovingly survived by four daughters, Denise Henderson of Oklahoma City, OK, Anna Holmes of Altus, OK, Marilyn Pitts of Altus, OK, and Stacy Jones of Mangum, OK; three sons, George Walton of Oklahoma City, OK, Dennis Walton of Paris, Texas and Arthur Pitts of Altus, OK; two sisters, Della Patton of Edmond, OK and Mattie Fay George of Dallas, TX; four brothers, Cozy Crain of Amarillo, TX, Lemmie Crain of Amarillo, TX, Glen Crain of Edmond, OK, and Arthur Crain of Edmond, OK; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
