Ruth "Mo" Nation

Ruth Maurine “Mo” Nation, 87, Altus, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. No services are scheduled at this time. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Ruth Maurine Nation was born on October 30, 1924 in Altus, Oklahoma to Murphy and Maude (Fowler) Rogers. She grew up and graduated from Altus High School. Mo married Curtis Nation in Vernon, Texas on June 9, 1958. She worked as a retail clerk for many years before retiring. She and Curtis loved to travel and were charter members of the Western Prairie Sam’s Club. They also enjoyed being park hosts at the Greenleaf State Park in Eastern Oklahoma. Mo also loved her pet dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Barbara K. Shelton, two sisters, Christell Reaves and Pauline Burson, and a brother, Tom Ed Rogers. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Sybil Nation, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a nephew, Jon Rogers, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
