Ruthie Lou Keswater

Ruthie Lou Keswater, 96, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ben Partin officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ruthie Lou Lee was born on September 22,1926 in Dexter, New Mexico to Ruthie (Manis) and Wesley Franklin Lee. Ruthie married Arthur Alvin Keswater on Oct. 2,1943 in Portales, New Mexico. They shared 56 years together before his death in 1999. Ruthie worked various jobs, including working at Eastern New Mexico University, and as a Quality Control Supervisor for Texas Instruments, retiring after 20 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene. Ruthie was a gifted seamstress and she enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She was a loving caregiver and adored all of her many children.

Her loving husband, Arthur, parents, all her brothers and sisters, a son-in-law, Anthony “Butch” Elliott, and a great great grandchild, Jeremiah, who is now in her loving arms, preceded her in death.

Those left to honor Ruthie’s memory are her daughters, Carol Louise Elliott and Phyllis Ann Rasco and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Benny Allen Whitt and wife, Carla, Sheila Bentley and husband, Terry, Tony Elliott and wife, Kim, Perry Whitt, Lisa Wilson and husband, Ken, Amanda Hipple and husband, Rob, Dustin Rasco, and Jayson Rasco and wife, April; 21 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:30 PM on Friday, March 3rd at the funeral home.
