Sallie Katherine Dennis

Sallie Katherine "Kay" Dennis, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at her home in Blair. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Blair Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Dennis officiating. Burial is under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Sallie Katherine Mayers was born on April 14, 1940 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Douglas C. Mayers and Sallie Mae Stone. She attended the St. Pauls School of Nursing. Sallie married Aubrey Dan Dennis on June 8, 1958 in Norfolk, Virginia and to this union four children were born: Audie, Donna, Tommy, and Kimberly. Sallie worked as a nurse most of her adult life but was most proud of being a mother. She was a member of the American Red Cross, the Bowling Association, the Golfers Association, and the Martha Road Baptist Church. Sallie enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, country western dancing, gardening, living on the farm, animals of any kind, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her husband of 51 years, Aubrey; her father, Douglas; mother and stepfather, Sallie and Garland Tebo preceded her in death.

Left to honor her memory are her significant other, Johnnie Rutledge; children, Audie Dennis, Donna Duff, Tommy Dennis, and Kimberly Dennis; grandchildren, Amanda Dennis, Ashley Dennis, Cody Dennis, Jason Mapp, Nikki Foster, Emye Sanchez, Noah Dennis, and Julieanna Dennis; great grandchild, Natalie Mapp; great-great grandchildren, Oliver and Jaina Foster; and many other family and friends.
