Sam Duncan, 87, long time Altus resident, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at home with his family by his side. Graveside committal of cremated remains will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Martha Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Baker officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Sammy Neal Duncan was born December 23, 1932 in Altus, Oklahoma to Clyde and Stella (Campbell) Duncan. He graduated with the Altus High School Class of 1950 and married Margie Shive on March 9, 1951. He worked at White’s Auto and household goods in Altus for 35 years as a salesman; C.R. Anthony’s in Altus for 9 years and retired as a handy man. Sam was a member of the Martha Road Baptist Church; enjoyed hunting, bowling, woodworking, construction and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie; a son, Tom Duncan; a brother James Duncan; and a sister, Bettye Brown.
He is survived by his daughter, Deana Ladd and husband, Mike; his son, Steven Duncan and wife, Diana; grandchildren, Alisa Roberts and husband, George; Samie Heney and husband, Josh; Amy Weeks and husband, Chris; Lindsay Duncan; Laura Murry and husband, Tyler; great grandchildren, C.B. and Devin Heney; Jadyn Roberts; Paxon, Zayden and Sutton Weeks and a great grandson on the way; two sisters, Bobbie Ebel; and Carolyn Duff and husband, Roy; two brothers, Jerry Don Duncan and wife, Carole; Jack Duncan and wife, Anita; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
