Sammie B. Kincannon, 92, Olustee, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the home of her son, Dale Kincannon, of Edmond, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Bill David Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Boggy Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born March 8, 1919 in Victory, Oklahoma to Will and Sula (Vista) Templer. She attended Victory School. At age 16, Sammie went to live with Bill and Essie Clowdus and resided there until she married Leon Kincannon on May 30, 1937. To this union three children were born. Sammie worked tirelessly in the home and on the family farm while the children were home. Later, she worked as a sales clerk at Anthony’s and Green’s Jewelry in Altus. She was lifelong member of the Church of Christ, attending the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus and the Olustee Church of Christ. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, attending church and church functions. She is preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; husband; son, Max Ray Kincannon; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Kincannon of Canyon, TX; one son, Dale Kincannon and wife Brenda of Edmond, OK; brother, Bart Clowdus and wife Doris of Enid, OK; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. The Kincannon Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
