Sarah Wilson, Altus, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Sarah Louise Elliott was born January 15, 1942 to James and Catherine (Jackson) Elliott in Boscoe, LA. She attended school in San Francisco, California. Sarah and Frank Wilson, Jr. were united in marriage on May 8, 1959 in San Francisco, CA and to this union three children were born. Sarah was the supervisor and manager from 1980 to 1997 at Altus Air Force Base Billeting, now known as the Altus Inn. She was also a Mary Kay and Tupperware representative. She was of the Baptist faith; she was baptized by Reverend N.V. Mills at the Metropolitan Baptist Church at an early age. Sarah was a member of the NCO Wives Club and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW, the NCO Club, the Bingo Oasis and the Comanche Nation Casino; she won often, winning cash, televisions and even a truck. She also liked cryptograms; listening to B.B. King, rhythm and blues music; country music; watching westerns; documentaries and her favorite movie “The Green Mile” and going to the casinos in Las Vegas. Sarah was a softhearted soul, always giving more than was ask of her. Sarah is preceded in death by her grandmother, Telitha Jackson; parents; stepfather, Moses Mercer, Sr; husband, Frank Wilson, Jr; son, Frank Samuel Wilson; sister, Mottie Jones; two brothers, Bobbie Elliott and Nathan Holland. She is lovingly survived by two sons, Harold D. Wilson and Bruce J. Wilson both of Altus, OK; two grandchildren, Brandon and Aisha Lopez of Altus, OK, three sisters, Eluberta Blackmon, Katherine Holland and Mattie Smith, all of San Francisco, CA; two brothers, Roger (Moses) Mercer and Cornelius (Lewis) Mercer, both of San Francisco, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Wilson of San Bernardino, CA; uncle, Roger Jackson of New York, NY; niece, Jana Buchanan of Houston, TX; nephew, Elder James R. Smith of San Francisco, CA; special family friends, William P. Braun, Jason H. Sanders, Paulette A. Hernandez, George Kirby and William Kirby and a host of friends.
