Sherri Jo Sexton, 55, of Gould, Oklahoma, unexpectedly passed away on February 6, 2025, in Duke. Sherri was born on May 20, 1969, in Perryton, Texas, to Billie Charles Sexton and Loneta June Wylie Sexton.
Sherri’s love for her daughter and grandchildren was immeasurable, and they knew the depth of her devotion. She always carried a special place in her heart for New Orleans, LA, where she lived for several years before returning to the Dallas area and then to Gould, OK.
Sherri leaves behind her beloved daughter, Jozie Goodman of Gould, OK, and her cherished grandchildren, Hayden Harber and Hallie Harber of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by her Aunt Pam Vasquez and her husband Pete of Garland, TX, and her Aunt Kaye Sexton Moore of Oklahoma City, OK. Sherri had a special bond with her dear friend Angel Stone and her children, Micah and Ellee. In addition, she is lovingly remembered by a host of cousins, extended family, and many friends in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Billie Sexton, her mother, June Sexton, her sister, Tonya Sexton Fox, and her nephew, Dakota Charles Cotten. She was also reunited with her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Mildred Sexton, and her maternal grandparents, Joe and Letha Wylie.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time. Your prayers and comforting words have meant more than words can express.
A Celebration to Honor the life of Sherri will be held at Kincannon Memorial Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma, on March 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
