Sherry L. Conklin, 66, Altus, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Sherry Leah Bettencourt was born May 12, 1954 in Altus, Oklahoma to Laurence Richard and Thelma Lee (Parker) Bettencourt. She graduated with the Altus High School Class of 1972 and married Greg Conklin April 21, 1984 in Altus, Oklahoma. Sherry worked at Kellwoods as a seamstress from 1983 to 1993 when Altus Athletics bought the Kellwoods building. She worked for Altus Athletics from 1993 to 1999 and then worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital from 2013 to 2016. Sherry was a member of the First Baptist Church; enjoyed shopping, sewing, crafting, home decorating and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Thelma Bettencourt; and her brothers, Richard Bettencourt and Parker Henderson. She is survived by her husband, Greg; one son, Owen Robert Pierce III and wife, Dawn; two daughters, Bambi Lough and husband, Kyle; Tiffany Pearce and husband, Tony; one brother, Wendell Henderson and wife, Brenda; twelve grandchildren, Kaylin Pierce; Kelsey Robertson and husband, Brandon; Amber Patterson; Ashlee Patterson; Samantha Lough; Lexi Haley; Asher Lough; Aiden Lough; Brooklyn Peters; Hudson Pearce; Kaylee Wilson; Kelsi Wilson; three great grandchildren, Jayce King-Maldonado; Nathaniel Pierce; Kambrie Robertson and many other family and friends.
