Shirley Ann Raiden, 64, Altus, departed this life Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Elder De Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Shirley was born August 22, 1949 to Cecil and Christine (Weaver) Raiden in Altus, Oklahoma. She attended the Lincoln School and later Aladdin Beauty College to become a Cosmetologist in the first graduating class. In 1966, she gave birth to a son, Yves Montez Raiden and later adopted Tavon Leon in Miami, Florida in 2000. Shirley and Joe Lee Henderson were united in marriage in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 2009. She moved to Miami, Florida in the early seventies and worked at Hall, Ferguson Hewitt and Greg Mason Funeral Homes as a Cosmetologist. She was a dedicated usher and member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Liberty City until she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2005. Shirley was a devoted and loving, mother, foster mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved listening to Gospel music and keeping her lawn manicured, shopping at thrift stores and decorating a beautiful home. She will be dearly missed by all, especially Gwen, her baby sister, who considered her as a second mother. She loved her family in which she was instrumental in the raising of most of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Ann Raiden and Rebecca Raiden; and one brother, Cecil LeRoy Raiden. She is survived by two sons, Yves Montez of Seattle, WA and Tavon of Altus, OK; two sisters, Esther Binion and husband, George, of Cleveland, OH and Gwendolyn Raiden of Altus, OK; one brother, Carl Raiden of Altus, OK; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and cousins, Sophie Owens of Vernon, TX, Terri Ricks of Vernon, TX, and Gloria Holder and Diane Wesley, both of Wichita Falls, TX; two special friends, Ramona Filer of Altus, OK and Barbara Charles of Pittsburg, PA; as well a host of family and friends who loved her very much.
