Silas Franco, 19, Blair, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. A vigil will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Father Cory Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Silas Jaleel Franco was born on March 29, 1999 to Fernando Garcia-Franco and Medina (Downs) Franco in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Blair High School in 2017. Silas was a blessing since he was born and made a huge impact on anyone lucky enough to meet him. Elmo and Bunny were his favorite companions. He also enjoyed watching the Food Network and spending time with his Papaw and Hemi.
Silas is preceded in death by his father and his great-grandfathers, Don Fuller and John Samuel Downs.
Silas is survived by his mother, Medina Franco and Kevin Newton; sisters, Samantha Franco and Susan Franco; grandparents, Pete and Trish Downs; great grandparents, Joyce Patrick, Richard and Ruth Hale and Joan Fuller; aunts and uncles, Richard and Sarah Biddy and family, Nathan and Julie Downs and family and Tiffany Downs; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be sent to the Chromosome 18 Registry and Research at chromosome18.org or to the Shriner's Hospital at shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
