Stephen Keith Adams, 69, Olustee, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with friend’s sharing and family stories being told. The family has chosen cremation and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Stephen Keith Adams was born September 27, 1953, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Loy and Lillian (Spiva) Adams. He graduated from Olustee High School with the Class of 1971 and continued his education at Cameron University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education and then attaining a Master of Education from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
He taught at various schools across Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas, retiring as a biology teacher from Lawton this year. He owned and operated Adams’ Shooter Supply in Olustee and then in Altus for a number of years. Keith married Maria Luisa “Malu” Zuniaga on April 1, 2018.
Keith lived on the same farm on which he was raised, southwest of Olustee, most of his life. He loved working the land and raising many different types of animals. He liked to keep things simple and natural and enjoyed gardening, bee keeping and wood working. He loved motorcycles and the freedom they provided, taking him all over the western United States. He had a lifelong passion of shooting, collecting, repairing and trading guns. When he was not teaching or working on the farm, Keith enjoyed traveling abroad to many countries and exotic locations around the world.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Lillian Adams, and his brother, Lonnie Adams. He is survived by his wife, Maria “Malu” Adams of Olustee; three children, Matthew Adams and wife, Shannon, of Cedarcreek, Missouri, Daniel Adams and wife, Brandi, of Altus, OK, and Sarah Igo and husband, Trevor, of Weatherford, OK; his brother, Paul “Doug” Adams and wife, Patricia, of Fresno, California; grandchildren, Clayton, Cole, Gunner, Axel, Owen, and Elsie; as well as many friends.
