Steve J. Daniels, 69, long time Altus roofer, left to work his final roofing job Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his home with loving family by his side. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Paul Brown and Abel Munoz officiating. The casket, complete with roofing shingles, will be taken to the Martha Cemetery in one of Steve's work trucks. Steve also requests his friends wear comfortable clothes (no ties) and bright colors to the Celebration. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Steve Jayroe Daniels was born February 14, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina to John Edward and Thelma (McGee) Daniels. His family moved to Enid, Oklahoma when Steve was young and he attended Enid Public Schools. He was a roofing contractor most of his adult life. He married the love of his life, Debbie Enoch, June 27, 2001 in Vernon, Texas. Steve enjoyed going to the casinos, playing with his grandchildren, Oklahoma University Football and pranking people.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Daniels; and his beloved dog, Mattie Sue. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; six bratty daughters, all of whom he considered a Princess, to include Kendra, Pamela, Katie, Cheyenne, Tempia and Kenna; two hard working sons to include Jesse and Steven; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; his best friends Johnny Thomas and Andy Welch and many other friends.
Casketbearers include Derick Dishman, Bubba Buxton, Gurardo Lopez, Abel Munoz, Enoch Tolido and Craig McGee. Honorary casketbearers include Five, Cuba, Johnny Thomas, Andy Welch, Johnny Dean Daniels and Jesse McConnaha.
Steve's request was for all who knew him to "pay it forward" with a random act of kindness.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
