Steven B. Babb, 65, Eldorado, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Courtyard at Magnolia Creek in Altus. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with J.P. Williams officiating. Burial will follow services at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Viewing will be available at the Kincannon Eldorado Chapel Friday afternoon and evening until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Viewing will be available at the Kincannon Altus location Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Steven Breck Babb was born December 24, 1956 in Quanah, Texas to Gerald Ivan and Verna (Shively) Babb. He graduated from Eldorado High School with the Class of 1975 and continued his education at OSU Okmulgee, earning an Associates Degree in auto mechanics and machinist. He married Monica Richeson April 26th, 1981 in Norman, Oklahoma and to this union one son, Eric, was born.
Steven began welding locally, and later in the oil and gas field before working for 20 years at Georgia Pacific in Quanah, Texas as a machinist, until his retirement. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed rock crawling and trail riding in his Jeep; landscaping and lawn work; music; tinkering on just about anything.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Babb; and his grandparents, Mozella and Arlie Babb; and Elma and Wayne Shively.
He is survived by his wife, Monica; his son, Eric Babb and wife, Haley; his mother, Verna Hunter; his sister, Deborah Huber; his brother, Derek Babb and wife, Elizabeth; his granddaughter, Eleanora Babb; and many friends.
