Terry Keith Southall, 57, Altus, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Clint Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Terry was born on November 13, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Windle and Rene (Ward) Southall. He graduated from Blair High School in 1973, where he was active in baseball, basketball and FFA. He also held several positions as a class officer. Following graduation, he received his Associates Degree from Western Oklahoma State College and went on to graduate from the Police Academy (CLEET.) Terry was known most of his adult life as a carpenter. He worked for the Altus Police Department in the positions of Patrolman and Detective. He worked for the District Attorney’s office as an Investigator and the Victim/Witness Coordinator until he retired early due to health reasons. Terry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Oklahoma District Attorneys Association and the North Texas/Oklahoma Investigator Association. Terry married Brenda Garrison on July 20, 1983 in Vernon, Texas. He had three daughters, Michelle, Nicki, and TeAnn; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was a past member of the Blair Church of Christ and Elm and Hudson Church of Christ and had attended the Tamarack Road Church of Christ. Terry was an active sportsman. He played intramural baseball and basketball and loved to golf. He especially like going dove and quail hunting behind his bird dogs. He was well known around the little league baseball and basketball programs, watching his children and grandchildren’s sports activities. Terry loved to laugh and joke around and always had a joke for everyone and every occasion. He loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved to talk about them. Terry was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Will and Mary Southall and Tom and Bonnie Ward, his father, Windle Southall, and his father-in-law, Tom S. “Tommy” Garrison. Survivors include his wife, Brenda, of the home; three daughters, Michelle Castillo and husband, Noe, Nicki Southall, and TeAnn Trevino and husband, Jose, all of Altus, OK; his mother, Rene Southall, of Blair, OK; his mother-in-law, Gay Garrison; his grandchildren, Isaiah and Johnny Olivas, Junior Castillo, Camden Hammock, Abigail Beaushaw, Kristen Hammock, Noelle Castillo, Chloe Castillo, Tatyanna Trevino and Devonte Hall; a great granddaughter, Allura Beaushaw; two brothers, Mike Southall and wife, Carol, of Chickasha, OK and David Southall and wife, Dana, of Blair, OK; a sister, Sheryl James and husband, Kyle, of Altus, OK; an aunt, WynNelle McMillin of Blair, OK; many other nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
