Terry Bennett Kirby, 69, Eldorado, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Eldorado United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Jones and Rev. Glenn Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Terry was born on August 26, 1948 in Lamar County, Oklahoma to Milton and Ovita (Hope) Kirby. He married Zelma Terry on June 27, 1981 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He worked in the oil fields and as a cook for most of his life. He cooked for Henry's, Dutch's and Ken's in Quanah and at the Panther in Eldorado. He loved to cook and made the best hot rolls, cinnamon rolls, steak and catfish. He enjoyed golfing and dominoes and especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.
His parents, Milton Kirby and wife, Judy, and Ovita Mulvaney and husband, George, a brother, Travis Kirby, and two sisters, Mary and Nancy Kirby, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Zelma, of the home; a daughter, Neta Kirby Roe and husband, Randy; a son, James Kirby and wife, Jacqueline; ten grandchildren, Tyler, Brady and Jayden Mefford, Kason Kirby, Maddox Roe, Madison Kirby, Mason Roe, Braxton and Travis Kirby, and Max Roe; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Kiley Mefford; two brothers, Charles Kirby and Larry Kirby and wife, Rachel; two sisters, June Akiode and Penney Buchanan and husband, Fred; special family members, Angela Kirby and Jacob and Whitney Miller and children; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the chapel in Eldorado.
