Thelma “Tuffy” Green, 92, Altus, passed away on January 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Thelma Bussey was born on June 8, 1920 in the Warren Community, Oklahoma to Willis Redden and Tinney Elizabeth (Smith) Bussey. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1939. During World War II, she worked as a factory worker in Watertown, New York. Thelma married Glen B. Green on February 12, 1946 in South Texas. Thelma spent many years traveling with her husband helping out with harvest. She was a very hard worker, which is how she earned the name “Tuffy.” She worked at English Village Manor for a while as a cook. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and was baptized in August of 2005. She enjoyed her family and friends, sports, country music, old western movies, and crocheting. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her parents, husband, and six brothers and sisters, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Green and wife, Barbara, of Eldorado, Oklahoma, and Larry Dale Green and wife, Debbie, of Dill City, Oklahoma; a daughter, Carolyn Marriott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
