Thomas Douglas Mowdy

Thomas (Tommy) Douglas Mowdy joined his Mom, Dad, five brothers and his beloved sister in his new heavenly home March 20, 2019 at 12:35am. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Kelli Mowdy officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Tommy was born December 17, 1956 in Coalgate, OK. to Marven Earl Mowdy and Verna May (Beck) Mowdy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Theodore Glen Mowdy, Ernest Rae Mowdy, Robert Earl Mowdy, Marven Wesley Mowdy, Jackie Laverne (Roburn) Mowdy, his sweet sister Heather Marie (Rita) Barber, and the mother of his son, Julie Thompson.
Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Mowdy Jr. of Magee, MS, sister Martha Francis Allen of Coalgate, OK., brother Albert Marion Mowdy of Kingfisher, OK, brother James Allen Mowdy of Pickett, OK., sister Erla Mae Bray of Frisco, TX., Betty Sue Crumpton of Altus, OK., Verna Fay Henning of Olustee, OK., and Vonda Pearl Bullington of The Colony, Tx. as well as many nieces and nephews located from East Coast to West Coast.
Tommy was a force of nature and an extremely charismatic man. He was multi-talented as a musician, artist, architect, athlete, chef, and builder. When Tommy entered a room, he was always the center of attention. He loved his family, music, fast cars, animals, and telling stories of his wild adventures while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Heaven has gained the best guitar-pickin golden-boy our family has ever known! He will live on in our stories and our memories as the legend he was, and we know there is one heck of a jam session going on in heaven right now.
