Tomas G. Diaz, 75, Altus, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Frank Maldonado officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Tomas was born on November 27, 1943 in Brownsville, Texas to Ramon and Mercedes (Gonzales) Diaz. He graduated from high school in Brownsville. Tomas proudly served in the US Army and the Army National Guard, served almost 27 years, and dearly loved his military family. He married Henriquetta "Katie" Sanchez on June 9, 1966 in Quanah, Texas. Tomas worked for civil service as a welder and Altus Air Force Base for 15 years and was currently working at Walmart as a greeter. He was a member of the Fuente de Salvacion and enjoyed tinkering, fabricating, jokes, hunting, fishing, and Mexican music and dancing. He enjoyed being around people, especially his family and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ramon Diaz, and a sister, Emma Diaz.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Ramon Diaz, Adam Diaz and Tomas Diaz, Jr.; a daughter, Sarah Gonzales and husband, Jesse; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Ramon, J.T, Adam, Caitlyn, Samantha, Sara and Christian; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Lupe Ramirez and Ramona Simons and husband, David "Red" Simons; a brother, Geno Diaz and wife Tammy; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
