Ute Smith

Ute Smith, 76, Altus, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Altus City Cemetery with Erin Martinez officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ute Graab was born on December 31, 1942 in Mannheim, Germany to Hans-Ludwig and Luise (Galm) Graab. She graduated high school and attended three years of business school before marrying a soldier, Alan Roy McGee, on December 31, 1959. She moved to the United States and later married Rodger Jay Smith, Sr. on September 6, 1974 in Vernon, Texas. Ute worked for Kellwood's as a seamstress in the 1970's. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, bingo and her daily "Pick 3's."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodger Jay Smith, Sr., in May of 2015; her infant son, Johnnie Lee McGee, on November 27, 1961, and her sister, Trula.

Ute is survived by her daughter, Sabina Christine Long and husband, Mark; two sons, Joey Alan McGee and wife, Collette, and Marcus Scott Smith and wife, Christina; ten grandchildren, Brandon McGee, Brianna Billingsley and husband, Josh, Justin Long and wife, Kelly, Brock Long and wife, Heather, Orlando McDonald and wife, Lauren, Mercedes Wiggins, Damon and Chynna McDonald, Nalla and Darren Smith; four great grandchildren, Braelyn, Parker, Madeline and Palmer; a brother, Rolf Hans Graab; and special friends, Gunda and James Boler.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society @ cancer.org or Veterans Affairs @ va.gov
