Vernon Ray Traylor, Jr., 62, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on August 18, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Jackson and Fayrene Washington officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Vernon was born on April 7, 1960 on Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico to Vernon Ray, Sr. and Versie (Tyson) Traylor. He grew up in Altus and was a graduate of Altus High School with the Class of 1978. Vernon married Garnett Bell in the early 1980’s in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He faithfully served his country in the Army Reserves. Vernon was a truck driver most of his adult life and greatly enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bennie and Allie Mae McAlister and Z.L. and Inez Andrew.
Left to honor Vernon’s memory are his wife, Garnett Bell; sons, Michael Chandler, Vernon Lamont Chandler, Corey Traylor and Randall Shivers; his daughter, Danielle Chandler; ten grandchildren; his parents, Vernon, Sr. and Versie; and siblings, Kimberley Ann Traylor and Shawn Bagley.
