Virginia A. Linares, 91, Altus, OK, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 9, 2012. Rosary Services will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kolb officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Virginia was born on October 20, 1920 to Macario and Concepcion (Cazares) Anaya in Lockhart, Texas. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Acension and Refugia Cazares. She attended school in Lockhart, Texas. She married Eulalio G. Linares on September 20, 1940 in Torreon, Mexico and the two were married for 71 years. She worked on a farm, taught sixth grade in Mexico and was a homemaker. The Linares family moved to Elmer in 1952 and later moved to Altus in 1981. She was a long time member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, working 28 years as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed crocheting, word search, and cooking. Her family and her extended family always came first. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Linares is survived by her husband of the home; one daughter, Melinda Flynn and husband, Cliff, who was like a son, of Altus, OK; four sons, Henry Linares and wife, Nelda, of Aberdeen, S.D., Eddie Linares and wife, Neoma, of Port Naches, TX, Tony Linares and wife, San Juana, of San Antonio, TX, and Tom Linares and wife, Jackie, of Cape Girardeau, MO; one sister, Hilaria Maldonado, of Canutillo, TX; seven grandchildren, Larry Linares and wife, Laura, of Houston, TX, Kerry Linares of Spring, TX, Stacey Wasem and husband, Jeremy, of Aberdeen, SD, Suzi Frost and husband, Danny, of Rapid City, SD, Darin “Lalito” Linares and wife, Sally, of San Antonio, TX, “Shine” Maria Gonzalez and husband, Richard, of Altus, OK, and Ashley Mavrogeorge and husband, Jason, of Altus, OK; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Mena and husband, Matt, of Houston, TX, Andrea Linares, Brandon Linares, and Nicole Linares of Spring, TX, Jager Wasem and Ridgley Wasem of Aberdeen, SD, Meadow Frost, Amaya Frost and Vivian Frost of Rapid City, SD, Lorelai Virginia Linares and Cruz Linares of San Antonio, TX, Sicily Gonzalez, Malea Gonzalez and Keegan Gonzalez of Altus, OK, Caden Ziethlow; and one great-great-grandson, Kayden Mena and a host of other family and friends.
