Virginia Ruth Leeson

Virginia Ruth Leeson, 82, Altus, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jason Duree officiating. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Virginia Ruth Nickerson was born on August 12, 1935 in McKinney, Texas to Dick and Nancy Alice (Vernon) Nickerson. She married Gaino Leeson on April 12, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. To this union, three children were born. Her and Gaino later married on March 27, 2012 in Altus. She worked for many years at the Altus Air Force Base Commissary and Altus Air Force Base Hospital. Virginia also worked as a college entrance tester at Western Oklahoma State College. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, cooking and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joyce Elaine McGraw, a son-in-law, Jack Armstrong, one brother, Warren, and two sisters, Phyllis and Jessie.
Survivors include her husband, Gaino, of the home; two daughters, Beth Wright and husband, Bruce, and Becky Armstrong; seven grandchildren, Mike Titzer and wife, Krista, Steve Titzer, Logan Wright and fiancée, Addie, Hillary Wright, Bobbie Sue Wright and husband, Tommy, Tony Armstrong and wife, Jennifer, and Denise Dean and husband, Danny; nine great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South and Western Sizzlin' to the North.
