Virginia Rose Hays, 69, Olustee, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow at the Gould Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Virginia Rose was born on March 5, 1943 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Martin L. and Opal Envy (Conner) Crabb. She graduated from Ron School, north of Hollis, in 1962. Virginia married Roger Hays on March 10, 1972 in Hollis, Oklahoma. She was a cook and waitress most of her life, working at Irene’s Café in Hollis, the Daisey Queen in Hollis and the Eagle’s Nest in Olustee. The last few years she cooked with her son, David, at the Eagle’s Nest. She was a member of the Olustee Church of Christ. Virginia enjoyed being the caregiver for her family members, reading Danielle Steele books, music, and singing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and animals. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Juanita Hughes and Loweta Chumley. Mrs. Hays is survived by her husband, Roger, of the home; one daughter, Deborah Kay Sanders and husband, Joel, of Olustee, OK; one son, David Hays of Altus, OK; two granddaughters, Tiffany Cooksey and husband, Todd, and Crystal Forster and husband, Pete; three great grandchildren; two nieces, Alecia Cleveland and husband, Steve, and Gloria Hamilton and husband, Glenn; one nephew, Mart Chumley; one great-nephew, Shane Hamilton and wife, Starla; one great-great-nephew, Skyler, all of Pampa, TX; and a special friend, “Tinker” - her son’s, David, Pomeranian. The family will host a visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Kincannon Funeral Home. There will also be a reception at the Gould Community Center following the burial, approximately 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012.
