Vivian “Eileen” Cofield, 60, of Altus, finished her earthly journey on Sunday, June 25, 2023. The family will greet friends at a reception honoring Eileen from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, June 30th at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 1st at the 11th Street Church of Christ in Sentinel. Arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Eileen was born on March 20, 1963 in Altus, Oklahoma to John Harold Goddard and Joyce Cass (Walker) Goddard. She was blessed with a very tight and loving family that did everything together; especially with two of Joyce’s sisters, Gayle and Betty and their families. Eileen never met a stranger, or if she did, they were not strangers for long. Like her mom, Eileen had the gift of gab. She was a social butterfly from a very early age. Joyce wanted her to be involved in everything, dance, piano/ UCK, baton, and thanks to Karen, band. Yes! She was a proud member of That Altus Band. Some of her favorite school memories were about band trips. She was blessed with some very close, lifetime friends, Robin, Jill, Rex, Lisa, Mike, and Shannon…and the list goes on.
Eileen loved kids. She was not a traditional mom, but a FUN mom. She was full of life and willing to play on the floor for hours with the little kids. Eileen attended an hour or two of college LOL, then went to Aladdin Beauty college. She didn’t really like doing hair, but she had a lot of fun. She and Jill started traveling out to the country to meet a boy named Brent Cofield. And as they say, the rest is history! They shared 38 years together.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kent, that left her with a broken heart; parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; Cass and Lillian Walker; and sisters-in-law, Charlita, Robin, and Kim.
Those left to honor Eileen’s memory are her loving husband, Brent; sons, Chad Cofield, John Cofield and wife, Kendra; daughter-in-law, Kylie; grandchildren, Leighton Cofield, Kent Bryson Cofield, Gracelynn Moore, Alana Torrez, Lil John Cofield, and new baby, Kali Mae Cofield; aunts, Betty Carter and Gayle Newman; cousins Ella, Mike, Karen, Jeff, Terry, and Joyce; brothers-in-law, Kendall, Jeff, Kris, Randy, Rocky, and Rusty; sisters-in-law, Cindy, Treasa, and Tiffany; Robert and Khord Cofield, and the girls that called Eileen their aunt, Gennalee, Michaela, Rebekah, and Lilly.
A message from Brent; I hope Eileen knows what a huge void her passing is leaving on her family’s hearts. We love her so much! Some of her advice was never marry an only child, as we both were, lol; true friends are with you through thick and thin, not just when you have what they want; shed the baggage; and work daily to be the best person you can be! We will miss her advice, gift of gab, and fun-loving nature.
