Wade Douglas Cobb was born on November 15, 1947, in Cherokee County, Alabama to Rexie Paul and Rose Lee (Green) Cobb. Wade grew up in Alabama where he graduated high school and went on to attend college for applied sciences. He joined the United States Air Force in 1967, and faithfully served his country for over 20 years. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Martha Ann Nunnley on August 23, 1969, in Ohatchee, Alabama and to this union two sons were born, Gary and Randy. As a military family Wade and Martha landed in Altus where they made their home and raised their boys.
Wade retired from the Air Force in 1989. Not being one to sit around, he continued to serve in the Civil Service until his full retirement in 2012. He and Martha shared over 54 years of adventure together with many miles traveled watching their boys' sporting events, later cheering on their grandchildren throughout their high school careers. Wade greatly enjoyed restoring classic cars and trucks, sharing his love of being in the shop with many. Wade passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 26, 2024.
Wade was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; parents, Rexie and Rose; and his siblings. He is survived by his two sons, Gary Cobb and wife, Amy Jo and Randy Cobb and wife, Crystal; seven grandchildren, Tyler Wade Cobb and wife, Destinie, AnaLea Cobb Delzer and husband, Johnathan, Emmy Cobb and fiancé, Tristan Netherton, Raigan Rodrigues Cobb, Kennedi Cobb, Bray Cobb, and Jennie Cobb; one great grandson, Dawson Wade Cobb; and many friends.
The Cobb family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, April 29th, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 30th, with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating. Wade will be laid to rest next to Martha at 2:00 PM at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Southwest Technology Center Foundation, 711 W. Tamarack Road, Altus, Oklahoma 73521. The Foundation will use memorials made in Wade’s honor for Automotive Technology program scholarships.
