Wanda Jean Davis, 86, Blair, died Saturday at English Village Manor in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler McDowell and Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Wanda Jean Smith was born October 25, 1927 in Gould, Oklahoma to Thomas Wesley and Pearl (Robertson) Smith. She attended school near Gould, later graduating from the City View School in 1946. She married George Harold “Bubb” Davis on June 15, 1946 in Mangum, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born. She worked tirelessly in the home raising her family and helping out on the farm. She also worked for many years at the Knox Hardware Store and the Savage Hardware Store as a sales clerk and book keeper. Wanda liked to keep busy and the only reason she quit work was to spend time and babysit her grandchildren as they came along. Wanda was saved at the age of 9 while she was out in the field herding cattle. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Blair and was very involved in all church activities. She especially enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Misty Wallace; four sisters, Juanita Scribner, Loretta Moore, Lena Cook and Faye Cosby; two brothers, Wesley Smith and Dale Smith; a brother-in-law, Carrol Presley and two sons-in-law, Ronnie Wallace and Terry Winters. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, “Bubb” Davis of Blair, OK; two daughters, Elaine Wallace and Phyllis Winters, both of Altus, OK; two sons, Gene Davis and wife Kathleen of Blair, OK; Mike Davis and wife Shearl of Altus, OK; a niece like a daughter, Saundra Burrows and husband Dwight of Lone Wolf, OK; a sister, Geneva Presley of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Billy Davis of Dallas, TX; Jeffrey Winters and fiancé Stacie Hupfer of Blair, OK; Laurie Ormiston and husband Galt of Edmond, OK; Crystal McDowell and husband Tyler of Stillwater, OK; Mickey Davis of Altus, OK; eight great grandchildren, Haylie, Kenzie, Harry, Kanin, Harper, Sadie, Cooper and Kristian; and many other family members and community friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blair Cemetery.
