Wanda Lee Roberson

January 8, 1932 — November 4, 2020

Wanda L. Roberson, 88, left this earth on November 4, 2020 at home in Altus with her loving daughter, Judy, son-in-law, Sam, and her niece, Jerri, at her side. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Hess Cemetery with Chaplain Erin Martinez officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Wanda Lee Mayo was born January 8, 1932 in Hess, Oklahoma to James Leonard and Elsie Katie (McGee) Mayo. Wanda graduated from Southside High School with the Class of 1949. It was there she met and married the love of her life. Wanda and Roney Dewel “Red” Roberson, Jr. were united in marriage on July 15, 1950 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. Wanda and Red were married for seventy years. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Judith Arline and Wanda Darlene. Wanda and Red moved to California in 1953 to raise their daughters. Wanda stayed home and cared for and raised their daughters. When the girls were old enough to care for themselves Wanda entered the work force in the laundry and dry cleaning industry. She retired early in the 1970’s and went back to being a homemaker.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of seventy years; her parents; brother, Laverne “Shorty” Mayo; sister-in-law, Hazel Mayo; brother, William Leonard “Pebo” Mayo; father and mother in-law, Roney Dewel, Sr. and Velma Roberson; brother in-law, George “Buddy” Roberson; and sister in-law, Genelle Ellis.

Wanda is survived by her two daughters, Judith and husband, Sam, of Altus, and Wanda Darlene and husband, Al, of El Centro, California; five grandchildren, Teri Depoali and husband, Les, Cheri Webb and husband, Todd, James McCombs and wife, Brandi, and Kyle McKee, all of Nevada, and Roney Lee Roberson of Arizona; ten great grandchildren, Sky Rousseau and husband, Jake, Samantha Webb, Leslynn Depoali, Wade Webb, Lauryn Depoali, Laney Depoali, Jordan McCombs and Austin Cadenhead, all of Neveda, Jeffrey McCombs and wife, Chelsea, of Texas, and Joshua Roberson of Arizona; three great-great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Rose Funes, Charles Dean Rousseau and Jackson James Rousseau, all of Nevada; a nephew, James Mayo and wife, Jackie, of Tennessee; nieces, Terri Roberson and Jerri Stricker, and a nephew, Bud, and wife, Donna, all of Altus.
