Warren A. "Corkey" Bryce, 92, Altus, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ with Daniel Ingram officiating. A private family burial will take place under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Corkey was born December 1, 1926 to William Preston "WP" and Willie Ethel (Watts) Bryce in Jackson County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Altus High School in 1945 and married Irma Chenault on October 7, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were blessed with three children, Dean, Brenda and Janet. He was a long time Jackson County farmer and rancher and a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. Corkey played high school football and was offered a football scholarship to play at Oklahoma University. He enjoyed watching OU football and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his wife and family and was grateful for all of their special times together.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janet Lea Bryce; two sisters, Sue Hartsell and Robinette Tucker; and five brothers, Thurmond, Owen, Eugene, James and C.F. Bryce.
He leaves behind his wife, Irma of the home; daughter, Brenda McDonald; son, Dean Bryce and wife, Jeanine; five grandchildren, Brady Bryce and wife, Donna, Kelly Taylor and husband, Michael, Amber Faske and husband, Jacob, Jamie Libby and husband, Drew, and James "Jimmy" McDonald; ten great-grandchildren, Nathan, Lizzie, Taryn, Cameron, Isaac, Judah, Noah, Joy, Lana and Taya; and a brother-in-law, Henry Hartsell.
The Bryce family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
