Waymon Charles Kelly, 82, of Headrick, Oklahoma passed away on November 17, 2023. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel in Altus. Family will greet visitors beginning at 9:00 AM before the service. Burial will follow at the Navajoe Cemetery east of Friendship under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Waymon was born on August 8, 1941 to William and Armilda (Duke) Kelly in Elk City, Oklahoma. On November 19, 1959, he married Linda Gail Burden in Paris, Texas. Together, Waymon and Linda had four children, Waymon Dale, Eddie Lee, Virginia Gail, and Norma Jean. Waymon worked for a time at the Headrick Cotton Gin but he was a farmer by trade most of his life. He was a lifelong member of the Headrick Baptist Church. Waymon enjoyed working cows and coyote hunting with his greyhounds.
Waymond was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents, William and Armilda; son, Waymon Dale Kelly; daughter, Virginia Gail Almquist; two grandsons, Waymon Jeremy Kelly and Charlie Dale Almquist; and siblings, Leon Kelly and Sue Kelly. He is survived by his son, Eddie Lee Kelly; daughter, Norma Jean Wright and husband, Willie; son-in-law, Brent Almquist; daughter-in-law, Carol Kelly; nine grandchildren, Christy Smith, Jessica Kelly, Lily Kelly, Chance Kelly, Heather Jo Smith, Josh Kelly, Clay Almquist, and Kelly Sieker and husband, Tommy, Justin Wright, and wife Erin; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
