William Frederick Albon, 87, Blair, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the English Village Manor. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Erin Martinez officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
William Frederick Albon was born February 12, 1929 to Frederick William and Nellie (Neal) Albon in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He graduated high school and attended Sault Ste. Marie College, Western Oklahoma State College, studying Agri-Business. William and Treva Baker were united in marriage on December 5, 1957 in Wichita Falls, TX. William served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving 26 years. He served one tour of duty in Korea and two in Vietnam. He worked for the Mangum Oil and Gas Co. in Blair and drove fuel trucks on base. He and Treva operated the Blair Bargain Center and he was an aircraft mechanic at Altus Air Force Base. William was a jack of all trades.
William is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Treva; and step-father, Jack Couture.
He is survived by one son, John Albon; two daughters, Cheryl L. Powell and Drucilla A. Aultman and husband, Nathan; two grandchildren, Dale Wayne Tedford and James Albon; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Blake and Rachel; a sister, Lois Jensen; brother, Edward Albon; and a cousin, Tom Neal.
