William Robert "Bob" Johnston, 76, Eldorado, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Eldorado Church of Christ with Eric Houck officiating. Burial will follow services at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Bob Johnston was born February 21, 1941 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Rufus L. and Effie C. (Taylor) Johnston. He attended school in both Eldorado and Quanah. Bob married Norma Gressett June 21, 1961 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He worked as a road grader operator for Jackson County Commissioner Lawayne Drury from 1979 until his retirement in 2008. Bob attended the Eldorado Church of Christ for many years where he also led the singing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; mowing; telling jokes and stories (some of which were actually true) and playing bluegrass music with his sons and friends in the Wichita Mountain Bluegrass Band.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Barnett. He is survived by his wife Norma of Eldorado; one daughter, Kim Frein and husband, John; two sons, Robert Johnston; and William David Johnston and wife, Tammy; one brother, George Johnston and wife, Caroline; two sisters, Mary Skinner; and Janice Bunch and husband, Bill; a half brother, Ralph Mealor; a half sister, Teresa Booth; nine grandchildren, Matt Frein, Calvin Frein, Mollie Johnston, Nick Lyng, Abigail Johnston, Analaya Johnston, Sissiley Johnston, Mandy Johnston and Jamey Johnston; three great grandchildren, Kate Frein, Kora Frein and Haiden Lindsey; and many other family and friends.
