Willie Robert "Bud" Chambers

Willie Robert "Bud" Chambers, 79, Altus, passed away at his home on Monday, April 24, 2017. A graveside committal of cremated remains will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Crouch officiating. Cremation services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Bud was born on July 9, 1937 to Owen J. and Gertrude (Short) Chambers in Frederick, Oklahoma. He graduated from Weaver High School, between Tipton and Frederick, in 1956. He married Noreta Stone in 1962 in Altus, Oklahoma and to this union four children, little Vic, Robert, LaDana and Shannon, were born. Bud started working as a truck driver for the Mayflower Moving and Storage Company in Altus, and then worked for the Eagle-Picher Mining Company, south of Olustee, as an electrician. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Jackson County District for a number of years, then worked for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Lugert-Altus Irrigation District, retiring in 2010. He was of the Christian faith and loved tinkering in his shop. He enjoyed working with his pecan trees, planting all types of trees, and spending time with his family and friends. Bud was a great man who lived a simple life.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Victor M. Chambers; and his brother, James W. Chambers.
He is survived by his sister, Charlene Chambers and her children, Cheryl, Crystal, and Keith; his daughter, LaDana Jones and husband, Chris; two sons, Robert Chambers and wife, Karen Foster, and Shannon Chambers; four grandchildren, Chloe Jones, Reece Jones, Jakob Chambers and Jordan Chambers; four step grandchildren, Misty, Savannah, Miranda and Emma; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
