Wyman was one of 10 children born to Maud and Nellie Weldon on May 29, 1926 in Reed, Oklahoma. He and his family lived on the river in the Reed-Vinson area. His family loved music and were excellent musicians. Wyman was a talented guitar player, and, in later years, always had music playing in the background. After graduating from Gould High School, he married Louise McCarver. During World War II, he joined the US Army and served his country in the Philippines, receiving numerous ribbons and two bars during his tour. After Louise's death, he married Helen Ruth (Tooley) on November 10, 1957 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He and Helen spent the next 63 wonderful years raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren. They both touched many lives of children in the Gould community. He loved to watch his kids and grandkids play ball and according to him they were always the best players on the team. Wyman's hobby was raising hounds for coyote hunting. He spent many happy hours listening to the bark of his dogs and could tell each individual hound by its bark. He was the president of the Oklahoma-Texas Wolf Hunters Association for many years. Helen and Wyman were members of the Methodist Church when they lived in Eldorado, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wyman, Jr., in infancy; 8 brothers and sisters; and two sons-in-law.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen, of the home; 10 children, Nancy Shapiro and husband, Walden, Patsy Williams and late husband, C.E., Susie Adamson and husband, Alvin, Micky Weldon and wife, Melanie, Louetta Shenefield and husband, Dutch, Lane Weldon and wife, Laurie, Ted Weldon and wife, Kim, Twyman Weldon and wife, Terri, Chryl Walton and husband, Jeff, and Chad Weldon and wife, Chasity; 28 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, and 42 great great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Matheson; and one sister-in-law, Betty (McKeand) and husband, Jimmy.
