Zeta Joan Weyrick

Zeta Joan Weyrick, 90, passed away at her home in Duke, Oklahoma on October 15, 2022. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Keith Gillham officiating. Burial will follow at the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Zeta was born on November 10, 1931, in a two-room house one mile south and ¼ mile east of Prairie Hill to Lloyd William Wilson and Mattie Jane (Griffith) Wilson. She soon moved with her family south of Harmony, Oklahoma where she began school. This is where she and her family survived the depression. They moved one mile west and ½ mile north of Prairie Hill where Zeta would graduate from Prairie Hill School in 1949. Zeta married George W. "Bill" Weyrick on August 10, 1949, in their hometown of Prairie Hill. They made their home on the Weyrick homestead near Duke, farming and ranching together for 69 years before Bill’s death. Zeta traveled with Bill during harvest season, feeding the harvest crew and of course, having many adventures along the way. They had four children, Bryan Curtis, Judith Kay, Leta Gay, and Cynthia Ann. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Duke. Zeta loved Bible Study and church gatherings, where she taught children in Sunday School for many years. She was well known for her ability to cook & feed a large crowd. Zeta made many meals for harvest crews & family gatherings. She enjoyed planting flowers in her garden beds and watching the bright colors unfold. Her family was her greatest priority, and nothing pleased her more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Weyrick was a woman of prayer and great faith. Many of her fondest memories were of events that happened in and around her church. She loved to sing hymns and read scriptures, many of which she could recite from memory.
Zeta was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Weyrick; parents, Lloyd & Mattie Wilson; brother, Curtis Wilson; and an infant brother, Johnnie Dale Wilson.
She is survived by four children, son, Bryan Weyrick and wife, Brenda; daughters, Judy Belew, Gay Meason and husband, David, and Cindy Weyrick. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Kristi Lynn Smith and daughters, Arianna and Ausha; Brett Weyrick; John Weyrick and wife, Elaine and daughter, Rain, and son, Carter; Christopher Belew; Lindsey Dollins and husband, Charlie and children, Braden and Braylee.
